Most people believe that reading and literacy are the most important subjects for children to be learning in school in order to be successful in life. Although this may be partially true for children to learn proper English, it is still very important that they branch off and learn different subjects such as math, visual arts and SCIENCE.

Science is important for children to learn because it is a significant domain for children when learning in school. It is important for them “not only to build a basis for future scientific understanding but also to build important skills and attitudes for learning” (Worth, 2010).  It also helps children build on their “curiosity and sense of wonder” (FDELKP, P112, 2016) by completing activities and experiments. Another way the children can learn is from prior knowledge and new knowledge being taught by the teacher through reading books, or exploring activities through trial and error. The process of learning science for children may involve them to ask questions, imagine and brainstorm ideas, plan materials they will be using, create the experiment and discuss throughout the experiment what works and what doesn’t work (Meeteren & Zan, 2010).

Why Science is Important for the Child?
